History
editAn ancient and flourishing city already during the Etruscan period, which saw a decisive battle in 225 BC between Roman and the Celtic hordes who were heading for Rome. But the city's name is linked to Giuseppe Garibaldi and his thousand soldiers in 1860. when Talamone was annexed to the Reign of Italy, he made a stop there to stock up on water and weapons

edit- 1 Rocca Aldobrandesca (Aldobrandesca Fortress). Among the main monuments stands the fortress Aldobrandesca that, from the promontory, overlooks the entire village and along the coastline.
There are also the coastal towers and fortifications (the Walls of Talamone, the Tower of capo d’Uomo, the Torre of the Cannelle and Talamonaccio).
Other places to visit include the permanent exhibition of Frontone in Talamone which hosts museum space in Piazza della Repubblica and Orbetello that exhibits a rare example of terracotta, examples of the Etruscan-Hellenistic era around Talamone that was part of the top front of an ancient Etruscan temple. The Aquarium of the Lagoon of Orbetello, which is located in the hamlet of Talamone hosts various species present in the waters of Laguna.
