Talk:Kashmir Valley
Naming and split
editWhile I really hesitate to wade into this mess, I think we've mostly got it right, and this article should be turned into a disambiguation:
- The Indian side of the LOC is Jammu and Kashmir.
- The Pakistani side of the LOC is Azad Kashmir.
It's incorrect to describe eg. Srinagar as the capital of the "disputed territory of Jammu and Kashmir", because the use of the word "J&K" is in itself an Indian POV. Instead, Srinagar is the capital of J&K and the largest city in the disputed territory of Kashmir. (WT-en) Jpatokal 11:59, 14 August 2009 (EDT)
- Ooh, just realized that this is supposed to be about Kashmir Valley, not the whole thing. So why not rename it as "Kashmir Valley"...? (WT-en) Jpatokal 01:18, 15 August 2009 (EDT)
- Wait, you mean you don't remember your own trivial one-time edit from well over a year ago [1]? :)
- I fully agree with that renaming plan. The current scope of the article is, as you say, somewhat misleading. - (WT-en) Dguillaime 15:49, 16 August 2009 (EDT)
