Is the form you need to read when saying oaths, Chinese or English ? How about the interviews ? In other words can you get married when you don't know Chinese ? -peirz

Marriage in China not an accurate title for this article

edit

This article is not about Marriage in China.

It is for one particular group of people, namely:

Citizens of another country who wish to marry Chinese citizens and then return to their home country with their Chinese spouses.

I don't believe that it's separated usefully for all purposes, but all the same the title of the article is very misleading.

There are two options that I can see. Either

a: the title of the article should be changed to reflect its true nature, or
b: the article should be restructured and expanded to include all three possibilities, namely:
1: Citizens of China who get married in China.
2: Citizens of another country who want to marry Chinese citizens and then take up residence in China with their spouse.
3: Citizens of another country who want to marry Chinese citizens and then return to their home country with their Chinese spouse.
Of course, you might be able to restrict the choices to #2 and #3, but you'd still have to change the article title to something along the lines of "Marriage in China for Foreign Nationals".

But there still difficulties with either option.

a: If the title is changed, it must be concise but accurate.
b: If the article is expanded, will it become too unwieldy? Will the subject need to be split into several articles anyway?

What do you think?

I see your point, but we could also consider if we really need to change the article name. All articles are written for travellers, so it could be argued that it goes without saying that the article is about foreigners, --(WT-en) ClausHansen 05:56, 11 March 2010 (EST)
