District borders

edit

I see that there is some misunderstanding as to what are the district boundaries. I thought that these are further outlying parts of Moscow, that are not so tightly connected with the rest of the city. Parts, that are right outside the MKAD are better to list with Moscow Outskirts, as MKAD is no longer any significant boundary in Moscow, not between those districts that lie right on the other side of MKAD.

Moreover, Ugresha, Krokus, IKEA-Himki (should the quite typical worldwide(?) mall be listed anyway?) - they are all technically outside Moscow bounds. "Myakinino" metro station is even listed as the only metro station officially in the Moscow Oblast, which excludes Moscow, and they are rather Moscow suburbs. As there is no need to divide wikivoyage locations by administrative borders, a question arises: where do we include (occupying significant area up to 30km from MKAD) Moscow suburbs? with Moscow? forming a Moscow suburbs region (with the only difference that bus would be more expensive), or including them into Moscow Region? or making sectoral divisions like:

  • Eastern suburbs (Balashiha to Dzerzhinskiy)
  • Southern suburbs (Vidnoe, Domodedovo, Podolsk) and
  • Northern and western suburbs (Mytishi megapolis to Odintsovo)

May be something to think and discuss.SakuraKojima (talk) 21:12, 4 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
