Talk:Nakhon Ratchasima
TAT Listings
editI moved the TAT listings at the province page to Talk:Nakhon Ratchasima/Listings for future reference. --(WT-en) globe-trotter 10:20, 7 February 2010 (EST)
City or Province?
editThe first paragraph suggests that the article will be about Nakhon Ratchasima city but many of the listed sights, hotels etc are dotted around the province. For example, there is stuff about Phimai and Khao Yai, both of which already have their own pages. The article is basically just one big list. Not too impressive for one of the biggest, most famous cities in Thailand. I live in Korat so I think I'll try to get this page straightened out but I just need some guidance: am I writing about the city or the province? I vote for city and think that the entries related to things outside the city should be deleted.(WT-en) Promphong 23:14, 18 February 2010 (EST)
- The Province page has been merged into the City page, that's why it might seem a bit confusing. Generally it is about the city. Listings of the Province can be included in this article, as it is generally the place travellers will sleep to see the surrounding sights. To take Kanchanaburi as an example, visitors there generally use Kanchanaburi as a base for visiting the further away lying Erawan Falls. If a town or a national park is particularly important or used as a place for sleeping, it can have its own article (such as Phimai or Khao Yai National Park. --(WT-en) globe-trotter 05:52, 19 February 2010 (EST)
- Thanks for the clarification. I'll get started on it next week. (WT-en) Promphong 21:17, 19 February 2010 (EST)
Get Around
editJust noticed the information in 'Get Around': "Best way is by driving/personal transportation" Genius. This is supposed to be for travellers, isn't it? Nothing about buses, songtaews, tuk-tuks, motorcycle taxis. I'll begin sorting the page out soon...(WT-en) Promphong 23:14, 18 February 2010 (EST)
- Please do. Unless someone like you writes it, it wont be there.--(WT-en) Burmesedays 10:40, 19 February 2010 (EST)
Sleep
editUnapologetic cull of loads of sleep listings today. All were in Khao Yai which has its own page. There are 50-plus hotels in this city, we don't need to pad out the article by incorporating hotels from around the province. (WT-en) Promphong 05:57, 28 April 2010 (EDT)
Zoo
editThe zoo: 'See' or 'Do'? The zoo in Korat is one of the biggest in Thailand. There are miles and miles of trails to walk, lots of different activities and a new swimming pool/water park. I've been there several times and it feels more like a 'Do' than a 'See'. (WT-en) Promphong 05:09, 25 May 2010 (EDT)
