Though Porters Lake is currently included within the "Halifax Regional Municipality" or HRM, it should be included as part of the Eastern Shore and not Halifax as it is only within Halifax county and lacks most city services. Prior to 1996 all communities east of Cole Harbour were part of Halifax County and not included in any of the cities or towns of the Halifax region. Porters Lake had an identity before the founding of the HRM and the older communities in the region do not self identify as part of the city. Lost dreamer (talk) 04:16, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
