Fifteen years ago, Scranton was nearly in ruins. Today it's in renaissance, with a Hilton downtown and yuppies fixing up houses near the University. Some people are beginning to appreciate its proximity to nearby parks, lakes, and mountains, as well as the New York City metropolitan area. There's also talk of a new medical school. When the Lackawana railroad bounces back, connecting Scranton to New York, land values will soar. Until then, it's a nice place to visit.--(WT-en) Beenthere 00:27, 11 June 2008 (EDT)
