So much more famous?

Are any of these other Troys famous compared to the archaelogical site in present-day Turkey? Especially since each of them is listed as a "town", and none of them have been the subject of an epic poem or a major motion picture, I think the Troy qualifies as "so much more famous". - (WT-en) Todd VerBeek 18:52, 1 August 2006 (EDT)

I'd agree. The only one I recognized from the list was Troy (Ohio), and it's not nearly as noteworthy as the site where Brad Pitt and Eric Bana dueled to the death. -- (WT-en) Ryan 18:55, 1 August 2006 (EDT)

I recognized Troy (Michigan) because it's in my state, but couldn't tell you anything interesting about it off the top of my head (although I'm sure it's a lovely place). P.S. I think Bana won, but only after he turned big and green and was replaced by a CGI monster. [1].

Troy is a archaelogical site. I suspect it will get an article at some point. Toss up for me. If you want to move it back it is okay for me, I guess it is more "famous". As far as listing all the others as a town, that is pretty much the standard for dab pages. Troy is inevitably going to be the subject of an article. I'm not as sure about most of the others; some will, some won't, but they all fall farther out of the spotlight than ancient Troia. I'm not sure there's really much value in listing them all here pre-emptively (as "towns") on the assumption that every one will be written up; peope can (and will) add them to Troy (disambiguation) when/if they're created. - (WT-en) Todd VerBeek 19:46, 1 August 2006 (EDT)
