The Eastern Shore region is Virginia's part of the Delmarva Peninsula, which is shared with Delaware and Maryland's Eastern Shore. It is a long narrow peninsula within the larger Delmarva Peninsula, extending south from the Maryland part, connected to the rest of Virginia only by a bridge at the south end. It comprises Accomack and Northampton counties.

Star Transit [formerly dead link] . +1 757 787-8322. Bus service operates between Chincoteague and Cape Charles. Buses run only four to six times Monday through Friday. Most buses run between 6AM and 6:30PM while others run between 6AM and 4:30PM. The main transit hub for all routes is at the Walmart in Onley. Nelsonia Royal Farm is the transfer point for Blue, Gold, Silver and Orange Routes.
