Tangshan (唐山; Tángshān) is a city in Hebei.
Understand
editTangshan is a large administrative area known as a prefecture. Within this prefecture are the urban areas of Tangshan proper and several other cities, including Zunhua, which is home to the Eastern Qing Tombs, as well as Luanzhou and Qian'an.
According to the 2020 Census, Tangshan's urban population is 2,549,968, making it the 45th largest city in China. It is renowned as the country's largest steel-making city. Since 2013, Tangshan has been reducing its steel output to improve air quality in the region.

editTangshan Sannühe Airport is located 20 km from the city center. For those traveling from Beijing, both Beijing Capital Airport and Beijing Daxing Airport offer the option of an inter-provincial bus service.
High-speed rail service between Beijing Railway Station and Tangshan Railway Station takes between 60 to 100 minutes. There are also frequent regular-speed rail services between Tangshan North Railway Station and Beijing.

editThe earthquake memorial and park in the centre of town on Xinhua Road is an important focal point.
Tangshan is among the largest Chinese cities without a subway system.

- 5 Kailuan National Mine Park (开滦国家矿山公园), 54 Xinhua East Avenue, Lunan District (路南区新华东道54号) (take bus no. 11, 16, 46, 79, 102, 118 or D02), toll-free: +86 400 9882016. 08:30-18:00, the ticket office closes at 16:30, the park is not open on Mondays. A major mining heritage park. It includes the site of China’s first mechanized coal mine as well as the starting point of the Tangxu Railway, the first railway built by Chinese people. Standard adult tickets are ¥36 for the Kailuan Museum and ¥40 for the railway museum; various combo tickets are also available; an all-inclusive ticket is ¥138 (which includes entry to both museums as well as a tour of the underground mine; tickets for the mine tour are not sold separately; children under 1.2 meters and adults over 70 are exempt from most fees; children must still pay to watch the 4D movies.

editSeafood is a big part of Tangshan cuisine, featuring an abundance of crabs, shrimp, and clams freshly caught from the Bohai Sea, during the months when a fishing ban is not in effect. To experience a wide variety of local seafood, visiting one of the city's seafood buffets is recommended.
- Three Fishermen (渤海三个鱼夫蒸汽海鲜自助). This restaurant offers a unique dining experience where patrons can take a bucket to an aquatic market in the center of the establishment. Here, you can fill your bucket with fresh crabs, shellfish, and other seafood. Once you've made your selection, place it in a large pan in the middle of your table for steaming. The restaurant also features a section with raw salmon and tuna sashimi pieces. Excellent value and memorable experience. CNY 189 and CNY 100 deposit in case of waste.
