Taplejung is the seat of the Taplejung District in the eastern Middle Hills of Nepal.

• 1 Pathibhara Devi Temple (Mukkumlung). The holiest temple for the local Limbu people. Attracts pilgrims from all over Nepal, including the ex-royal family. On a clear day, you will get a view of Kanchenjunga, the world's third highest mountain. (updated Jan 2018)

Drink

Said to be the best place to drink tongba, a mildly alcoholic beverage made from millet in eastern Nepal and neighboring Sikkim and Darjeeling.
