Expression error edit

I'm trying out this template to put two maps side by side, as shown here. Does anyone know what's going wrong? And is this a template worth keeping? --Peter Talk 05:06, 12 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Just out of curiosity, in what type of situation do you foresee using 10 images like this? I wouldn´t want to see people start using this as a replacement for gallery.Texugo (talk) 16:52, 12 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
10 images would definitely not be a good idea. Could we reduce that to just three, in case of useful map juxtapositions like this example? My template-fu is very weak, otherwise I'd do this myself. --Peter Talk 18:10, 12 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
I'm no wizard either. I couldn´t spot the mistake that's giving that error either.
Are there non-map uses for this template? Renaming it to "Multiple maps" might discourage some potential gallery-style vacation snapshot arrangements. Texugo (talk) 21:01, 12 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
I think that rename would make plenty sense. We could still use it for things like comparing Wikivoyage screenshots, but the name would discourage gallery-style use. --Peter Talk 21:10, 12 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
I've changed the name now. Is there anything else people would like to see before removing the experimental tag? Right now I've only used this in Dagestan, but I could see it being useful perhaps for adding a (very travel relevant) linguistic map of Sierra Leone next to the regions map there. --Peter Talk 03:25, 4 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
I don't know if this is what's causing the problem, but this template has a dependency on "Template:Multiple image/numImgs", which has not been imported. -- Ryan • (talk) • 21:31, 12 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
That did it, thanks! --Peter Talk 02:05, 13 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Non-map usage edit

I answered my own question. What about this usage? Texugo (talk) 18:28, 18 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

We want to discourage using this template for galleries, I think, but that example is clearly good. --Peter Talk 20:05, 18 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, I would even recommend keeping the current title, even though my use was obviously not for maps. Texugo (talk) 20:51, 18 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
Return to "Multiplemaps" page.
