Tilarán is a small town in Guanacaste, Costa Rica on the shores of Lake Arenal. The town is a peaceful, friendly place to visit and is increasingly popular for aquatic activities, especially windsurfing on the lake.

By bus
editFrom Liberia, take the 524 bus to Cañas where you will change buses to Tilaran. Each bus ride will be about 45 minutes and cost about US$3.
From San Jose, three daily direct buses to Tilaran are operated by Autotransportes Tilarán. The 4-hour trip will cost about US$12.
