Summary

An alternative standard colour palette for Wikivoyage maps, based on Paul Tol's Muted colour set (PDF). This colour scheme sets out to create a colour scheme, specifically for usage on maps, which is legible by nearly everyone, including people suffering from any kind of colourblindness. To allow for plenty of regions to be added on maps, this template contains 13 unique colours, and one neutral. T1-10 originate from the Muted colour set, T11 and T12 from Medium-contrast, T13 and T14 from Vibrant. T10 is the "neutral" colour (see table below).

Usage

In an ideal scenario, colours T1-9 are to be used before any others. If after those colours more are needed, use either T11 and 12 or T13 and 14. T10 ought to only be used for null, unknown or void values instead of colouring, as it does not stick out on dynamic maps (see examples below).

This template outputs an RGB Hex value (#000000 - #ffffff), and should be used instead of a raw RGB Hex value within stylistic elements that require one such as {{Regionlist}}, {{Mapshape}} and alike, or HTML elements.
