Welcome edit

Hello! Welcome to Wikivoyage. Please take a sec to look at our copyleft and policies and guidelines, but feel free to plunge forward and edit some pages. Scanning the Manual of style, especially the article templates, can give you a good idea of how we like articles formatted. If you need help, check out Project:Help, and if you need some info not on there, post a message in the travellers' pub.

Hi, you've uploaded some images. When you did this, the server told you to look at our Image policy which further asks that you mark on each picture when you took it and that you own the copyright to the image. Could you please do so? -- (WT-en) Colin 02:52, 10 March 2006 (EST)

Crazyjoeda: Again, the pictures you posted have been removed because there is no copyright notice on them. If you took the pictures and agree to release them under the CC-SA license please do add yourself as copyright owner so we can get them back up, they are a very nice addition to the page - (WT-en) bulliver 16:59, 14 March 2006 (EST)
Adding one more voice to the chorus, I've re-added the two images you removed from Project:Votes for deletion and removed the image from Vancouver. If you took these photos yourself then we can use them, but we need to know where they came from. See Project:Image policy for futher details. We do appreciate your contributions, but cannot legally accept any images that aren't licensed under the CC-SA 1.0 license. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have questions. -- (WT-en) Ryan 03:23, 15 March 2006 (EST)
Hi, thanks for resolving the status of one of the images. I've restored it onto the Vancouver article -- thanks for your contribution! If any of the other images (see Project:Votes for deletion) were taken by you, please clarify that because we would love to have your contributions. We can take care of restoring the images to the right pages, we just need you to assert that they belong to you. -- (WT-en) Colin 16:06, 15 March 2006 (EST)

I assume that the photo Image:Skytrainundergroud.jpg you just uploaded "from Wikipedia" was taken by you, since the contributor to Wikipedia has the same name as you. That's fine, but when you upload an image to Wikivoyage, we need more than a reference that the file is licenced under the GFDL. That's because the GFDL doesn't allow Wikivoyage to use the file under our license, which is the CC-Attribution-ShareAlike license. The simplest solution is to select a multiple-license option on the upload page, such as "GFDL and Attribution-ShareAlike". That adds a notice to the image on our server saying that it's available under either license. - (WT-en) Todd VerBeek 23:11, 7 July 2006 (EDT)
