Hello, Historys Stranglers! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. New users are also welcome to post any questions or concerns to the arrivals lounge. If you want some practice editing, please do so on our graffiti wall. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here. If you want to contribute with information about the place where you live, see Wikivoyage:Welcome, locals.

In view of these edits, I want to ask you for some favors:

When you see listings for anyplace that is out of business, please delete them and type "closed" or something similar in your edit summary, which you can type in the "Summary" box below your edit screen. And please, under no circumstances should you post these kinds of comments in a destination article! Edit as appropriate or start a thread on the article's talk page, but do you realize how vandalistic this looks in a travel guide? Do you see snide remarks about the editors on the pages of Lonely Planet or Frommer's? Thank you. Ikan Kekek (talk) 23:27, 27 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Let me add my welcome to Ikan Kekek's. I apologize for not providing a better explanation of my reversion. You appeared to be a vandal because you were removing listings for two businesses that, at first glance, appeared to be still operating. I acted too hastily, as I see that one has in fact closed, although they've left their website up.
I agree with your comments about “cute baristas” and “crazy owner” as that sort of information is inappropriate, and changes quickly. Thank you for your updates to the Santa Cruz article. I look forward to seeing more updates to California (and other) articles from you. Ground Zero (talk) 02:52, 28 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
I also agree with Ikan and your edits. I'm sorry for reverting your first edit. But please, comments like those don't go here, and hence my revert. Your username also gave me insights that you may be a vandal, however, now I know that you are not. However, thanks for your Californian contributions.
