Hello, SewChicago! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. New users are also welcome to post any questions or concerns to the arrivals lounge. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here. If you want to contribute with information about the place where you live, see Wikivoyage:Welcome, locals.

I saw that you asked how to add a "Babel box" mentioning that you're a native English speaker. You can do it by clicking "Edit source" on your userpage, then pasting the text {{#babel:en}} into the edit box. If you can't get it to work, let me know and I can help.

Please do add the museum and the arboretum to the Lisle article! I'd say they should probably go under "See", per Wikivoyage:Where you can stick it. —Granger (talk · contribs) 20:15, 18 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi SewChicago. If you're looking at the "diff" page where a user made an edit (like this one, for instance), you should see blue text that says "thank" in the line above their username. Let me know if you can't find it. —Granger (talk · contribs) 17:31, 29 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Blank pages edit

Hi, and thanks for all you do, but please don't create blank pages. If you have something to say on a talk page, say it. Otherwise, do nothing. Thanks. Ikan Kekek (talk) 19:28, 29 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Oh, okay. Sorry about that. SewChicago (talk) 19:29, 29 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
No problem. Ikan Kekek (talk) 20:09, 29 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Congratulations! edit

Hi there, I just noticed that you've become an autopatrolled user. Congrats on that, and in my opinion, I felt like you should've got this status before me. Take care, SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 09:20, 31 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

@SHB2000:, thank you for the kind words! SewChicago (talk) 17:51, 31 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
No worries mate! SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 00:05, 1 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Would you mind being a patroller edit

Hi SewChicago, noticed you've been actively been fighting vandalism in the past few months, and I'm wondering if you'd find the rollback tool more effective. If you would want it, let me know, and I'll ask an admin to give you the patroller right. Cheers, SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 08:14, 9 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

@SHB2000: Sorry for the late reply. My sleep deprived self has caused me to have some very stupid moments recently. While I feel that rollback would be useful, I don't see the need for me to become a patroller, and I don't feel that I am experienced enough to become one, either. Sincerely, SewChicago (talk) 20:18, 10 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
I've been on Wikivoyage for less than you have. Also, the name "patroller" doesn't mean you always have to patrol one's edits. From what I know, User:Vaticidalprophet has only patrolled 4 edits, in a timeframe of two months. Anyway, hope you get some sleep soon, I've often been sleep deprived lately as well (usually up to 0030 or 0100), causing me to do some stupid things here. Take care, SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 21:51, 10 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
For what it's worth, I've used it somewhat more for rollback. (I haven't been very active here this past month generally for a storm of reasons.) Vaticidalprophet (talk) 22:01, 10 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
I've just given you patroller right so you can use the rollback tool when necessary (although hope there's none). SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 03:28, 13 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
