Limburg

edit

There will be some discussion about merging northern and middle Limburg. But from a travel perspective they are about the same as southern Limburg in itself, mainly cause the region is more spread out in the northern part. These are still great places for outdoor hiking and walking, but there isn't as much to do outside Roermond, Weert, Venlo (and possibly Venray). Most of the other municipalities have only few attractions to warrent a visit. As clearly seen by the lack of articles on these seperate municipalities. -- Velorian (talk) 09:01, 11 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Noordmaasland

edit

I am not sure if Venray should be split of or not. Cause this is the one part of Limburg I am not that familiar with. As I have no idea if Venray has enough content to make it a subregion by itself.-- Velorian (talk) 09:01, 11 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Landgraaf

edit

I am not sure where to classify this particular municipality. There is a thought it can be included in Heerlen because Kerkrade also warrents its own region. Putting it with parkstad north is perhaps also an option, though the problem with that it kinda makes that region the biggest then. Basically wereever one adds Landgraaf you kinda create an imbalance. I basically put it with the smallest of the 3 options Kerkrade for now. The issue with that is though, naming the region. It borders germany to the east.

Landgraaf also has the issue that most of the time travelers will only visit from either out of Kerkrade or out of Heerlen. There are plenty of attractions in Landgraaf, though mostly spread out, which makes it easier to reach from across the border of Heerlen or Kerkrade. -- Velorian (talk) 09:01, 11 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Parkstad Region issue

edit

Parkstad is a cooperation between serveral municapilities in south limburg. While they make sense on the perspective of politics and policies. They do not make much sense as travel destinations.

Therefore I included schinnen within parkstad, though it technically is not a parkstad municipaility. But it has alot of similar attributes to the other 3 municipalies of the northern parkstad.

Heerlen is also part of parkstad, but I don't think it needs it's own seperate article on that. So we have the option to name it "Parkstad Heerlen" and then simply redirect it to Heerlen.

Lastly there is the issue with Simpelveld and Voerendaal. These two are also parkstad municipalities. But since their characters is far from city like and rather more inline with Gulpen and Vaals as these are more smaller towns with large hiking areas. -- Velorian (talk) 09:01, 11 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
