Vălenii de Munte (occasionally Văleni Prahova) is a town in Muntenia.
Understand
editIt is located about 95 km north of Bucharest and 28 km north of Ploiești in the hilly area near the Carpathian mountains on the Teleajen river valley. Vălenii de Munte was first documented in the 15th century. It was known as a market town in the early years, mainly because of its proximity to the Walachia - Transilvania border greatly developed trade in the area. Several constructions from that time still stand and are visitable, including the "Mănăstirea" church, dated 1680, and the "Sf. Nicolae Tabaci" church.
