editVoiron is a small city of 20,000 inhabitants (2018) in Isère, a French department. Voiron was famous in the 19th century, for its stationery and textile industry; Today, Voiron has a lot of very famous brands, like Rossignol, a winter sports brand, or Antésite sirups, very famous in France. The city is also famous for the Monastère des Pères Chartreux, an old monastery always active composed of monks who make a famous liquor, the Chartreuse, and a few others trademarks.

editA very great activity in this city is the visit of the Caves de Chartreus. Located in the centre of the city, you can visit the old caves of the production of Chartreuse liquors. There also is a final degustations of all types of Chartreuse liquor, like the Chartreuse Verte or the Chartreuse Jaune, so it is worth it! This old caves were originally the official production site of Chartreuse liquors, but it was moved in 2014 in an other place, more secure and outside the city, because the enormous amount of alcohol can explode.
- 1 Cellars of Chartreuse, along the RD 1075 (Boulevard Edgar Kofler) (near the railway station, opposite the municipal library). A distillery for the liqueurs produced by the Carthusian Fathers. The site has a museum, and you can visit the cellars, a shop dedicated to the sale of products, and a tasting room.
- 2 Saint Bruno church (Église Saint-Bruno de Voiron), Place de la République. The principal church in Voiron is the work of the diocesan architect Alfred Berruyer (1819-1901) who built a neo-Gothic style monument inspired by the 12th century cathedrals.
- 3 Mainssieux Museum (Musée Mainssieux), 7 place Léon Chaloin. The museum's collection includes the works of Lucien Mainssieux and his studio collection, comprising 695 paintings and around 6,800 drawings by his hand.

editThere is a lot of activities in Voiron, like the climb of the Vouise, a small mountain next to the city, and, at the top, the statue of Notre-Dame de la Vouise.
