edit- Cycling. Wangaratta is at the start of the Murray to the Mountains rail trail. Over 100 km (62 mi) of interesting, sealed, off-road cycling.
- Warby-Ovens National Park (about 10 minutes drive from Wangaratta). The Warby Ranges are a set of small hills near town. Great for bushwalking but can get very hot in summer. The park extends to the Ovens River which flows beside the hills
