term for the westernmost coastal states of the United States, located near the North Pacific Ocean
The West Coast of the United States borders the Pacific Ocean and is made up of two parts:
- California — The most populated state in the United States of America, and third largest by land area.
- Pacific Northwest — Consists of the states of Oregon and Washington.
Although the states of Alaska and Hawaii also border the Pacific Ocean, the typical sense of the term does not cover them.
