Mini-symbols
editMy logo has a couple of minisymbols, that each have modes of transportation. You can see it at my (WT-en) user page. Feel free to give feedback on my talk page. I'm also looking for someone with Illustrator experience to help me make a vector version.
BTW Mark, I like what you have so far. :) --(WT-en) comrade009
Compass card idea
editI've been working on (WT-en) an idea for using a stylized compass card together with the jigsaw puzzle idea from WikiPedia. Please have a look and provide feedback. Thanks! -- (WT-en) Mark 10:14, 23 Jun 2005 (EDT)
Concepts
editSome more conceptual ideas, without implementation. If you have a good idea for a logo, add it here. (Feel free to sign your addition if you use a lot of "I" or "me" language.)
- Many hands. I like the idea of lots of hands working together to make something. Many hands writing in the same book, maybe? Or writing out the word "Wikitravel"? --(WT-en) Evan 13:20, 29 Jun 2005 (EDT)
- A road paved from hands. Kind of macabre, I know, but one idea I had was the hiker from this image walking across a line of upraised hands. Or a hands-road going off to the horizon. --(WT-en) Evan 13:20, 29 Jun 2005 (EDT)
- Sharing thought balloons. Kind of complicated, but maybe something about knowledge coming out of people's heads, in the form of thought balloons, and being shared with others? Or coming together to make a book? --(WT-en) Evan 13:20, 29 Jun 2005 (EDT)
- A changing world. One of our strengths is that we can make guides that keep up almost instantly with changes "on the road". Could a logo convey this idea? --(WT-en) Evan 13:20, 29 Jun 2005 (EDT)
- Re-edited guidebook. (WT-en) Maj keeps intricate notes in the margins of her guidebooks. She also adds new entries and crosses out missing ones. Maybe some sort of idea of editing, re-editing, etc. would be good? It'd be hard to make it not language-specific. --(WT-en) Evan 13:20, 29 Jun 2005 (EDT)
- Where I came from, where you're going. Two (or more) travellers going in opposite directions, each describing where they came from to the other (who's headed that way). Yes, pretty much impossible to describe iconographically. --(WT-en) Evan 13:20, 29 Jun 2005 (EDT)
