- A lot of similarities. Both seats of evil bureaucrats. --(WT-en) Burmesedays 13:39, 1 April 2010 (EDT)
It is going well folks. Some really sharp satire in there. I am off to bed, please keep it up! --(WT-en) Burmesedays 13:43, 1 April 2010 (EDT)
Please keep this up on wikivoyage forever, this is truly hilarious. Wikivoyage should expand to other fictional places too, just for fun. ~stidmatt 9:15 PDT, 1 April 2010
- These fictional articles are fun to read (and write!) but since Wikivoyage aims to be a serious travel reference, once a year is generally enough... please check back on April 1, 2011 though :) -- (WT-en) Ryan • (talk) • 01:57, 2 April 2010 (EDT)
- Yep, congratulations to all contributors. Coming back with fresh eyes to read this again today, it really is very funny. But now back to the serious stuff for the next 364 days. --(WT-en) Burmesedays 04:04, 2 April 2010 (EDT)
Protection?
editGiven that April 1 is now over, and based on past history with April Fool's articles attracting attention well after their initial launch, would it make sense to protect this article from further edits? At this point it really is no longer a living document, but is instead a record of what we did on April 1, 2010, so I'd think protection makes sense. Thoughts? -- (WT-en) Ryan • (talk) • 10:53, 2 April 2010 (EDT)
- Very good move I would say.--(WT-en) Burmesedays 11:13, 2 April 2010 (EDT)
- Done. -- (WT-en) Ryan • (talk) • 12:30, 2 April 2010 (EDT)
- Maybe not??? I added move & edit protections, yet somehow a listing change still got through: [1]. Is this a bug in the software that allows edits via listing tags even for protected articles? In any case, the change was minor, but if I've somehow messed up the protection I'd be grateful if someone else could review and let me know what I did wrong. -- (WT-en) Ryan • (talk) • 13:58, 2 April 2010 (EDT)
- I can't find anything wrong and didn't duplicate the problem, but I'll hazard a guess that the listings editor would indeed work despite protection, but the interface is disabled. So, in this case, maybe the editor either already had the listings editor open before protection, or accessed it through a cached version of the page? --(WT-en) Peter Talk 19:48, 2 April 2010 (EDT)
