Wikivoyage talk:Privacy policy

So, I'd like to add a little more, here:

• Names and IP addresses are attached to changes and history. When we redistribute Wikivoyage content (say, through this WikiWiki), we show who did what. This is not only useful, but required by our copyleft.

• We'll use personal information to protect Wikivoyagers and the site. For example, if there's a DOS or other hacking attack against the server, we'll use whatever information is available -- say, a user uses a particular IP address -- in order to investigate. If a user makes threats against another user, we'll use personal information, too.

I think you should state to law enforcement officials in which countries user information could be transferred. I assume it is Canada so far. -- (WT-en) elgaard 16:40, 12 Apr 2005 (EDT)

Since there are two new ID features with a teensy bit of privacy concerns, I added information on this page about them. It's not particularly clear, but I figured it'd be better to add the info than not. --(WT-en) Evan 14:50, 11 December 2006 (EST)
