Wolfenbüttel is a town in Lower Saxony. It is best known as the location of the internationally renowned Herzog August Library and for having the largest concentration of timber-framed buildings in Germany, around 1,000.

Wolfenbüttel is overshadowed by nearby Braunschweig, and its one claim to fame is rarely associated with the town: being the site of the Jägermeister distillery and its corporate headquarters.

In 2022, it was home to 53,000 people.

Wolfenbüttel is located on the Oker river, about 15 km south of Brunswick. In 1432 it became the residence of the Duke of Brunswick.
