Zamboanguita is a small (about 25,000) seaside town south of Dumaguete in Negros Oriental. It has a number of diving resorts and is a jumping-off spot for boat trips to nearby Apo Island.

editThe town itself is walkable unless the weather is too hot. For convenience, or for places outside the town such as Malatapay market or some resorts, use a tricycle.

edit- 1 Malatapay Market (3 km north, along the National Highway). Open on Wednesdays. The farmer’s market is equally welcoming to townspeople, shoppers, tourists, and visitors. Specialties include: Handcrafted goods, woven bags and purses, woven floor/beach mats, tools, fruits & vegetables, fish (fresh & dried), Filipino "Good Will" clothing, bamboo furniture, housewares, prepared food, and restaurants with seafood, lechon baboy, cold beer and soft drinks. As you walk past the stalls and towards the ocean, you will enter an area with a livestock market/auction as well as sit-down restaurants, as well as the port where the boats to Apo island depart.
