China, ME is home to China Lake, a 54 square mile body of water that boasts excellent fishing. China Lake features the legendary Indian Heart Rock, a heart that was carved into a boulder on the lake in religious devotion so it would last through the ages. In addition to China Lake, China features tranquil scenery with rolling hills and beautiful farm land.

China Lake has excellent fishing and hosts several bass tournaments. Other activities that can be enjoyed on the lake are swimming, boating and water skiing. The village of South China has a boat landing where visitors can launch their own boats, rent paddle boats, and swim.

Many children's summer camps are located around China Lake and region. Also, visitors can enjoy walking, biking, and hiking in the surrounding picturesque area.
