Gyeongsan City is in the southern central region of Gyeongsangbuk-do, and is adjacent to Daegu Metropolitan City to the west, Cheongdo-gun to the south, and Yeongcheon-si to the northeast. Gyeongsan City, at the eastern end of the Daegu Basin, is a key point for traffic passing through the Gyeongbu Line, Daegu Line Railroad, Gyeongbu Expressway, and National Route 4 (Industrial Road).
