East Central Finland is a rural area in Central Finland, made up of the municipalities of Hankasalmi and Konnevesi.

Konnevesi is on Highway 69 between Äänekoski and Rautalampi. Highways 9 and 23 connecting Jyväskylä to Kuopio and Varkaus, go through the southern part of Hankasalmi, and from there regional road 641 goes up to Hankasalmi town and on to Konnevesi.
By train edit
There's a railway station in Hankasalmi. Trains on the line between Jyväskylä and Pieksämäki, most of them starting and ending beyond these cities, stop there.

Both Hankasalmi and Konnevesi have bus services from Jyväskylä.
