Kolín is a city in Central Bohemia. It has about 33,000 inhabitants in 2023. The historic town centre is well preserved and is protected by law as an urban monument reservation.

Kolín lies about 47 kilometres (29 mi) east of Prague. The town is located on the Elbe River.

  • In 2023, there were bus lines with direct connections to the following municipalities: Čáslav, Český Brod, Kouřim , Kutná Hora, Pečky, Poděbrady, Týnec nad Labem, Uhlířské Janovice, Vlašim, Zásmuky, Zruč nad Sázavou, Žiželice.
  • 1 Kolín railway station, Rorejcova 569. It is a junction of five railway lines from Prague, Olomouc, Ledeček, Havlíčkov Brod, and Velké Osek.

  • The historical centre of the town has many gothic and baroque buildings. Most notable are the main market (Karlovo Square) with the Neo-Renaissance town hall, and the Church of Saint Bartholomew from the 13th century, rebuilt in 1360 by the architect Peter Parler.

  • 8 The Jewish cemetery (Starý židovský hřbitov v Kolíně). One of the oldest and largest Jewish cemeteries in Bohemia. It was established in 1418 and has more than 2,600 tombstones
