This area is bear territory. If walking or hiking in nature try to be noisy to prevent any encounters with bears.

Eat

Being a series of fishing villages along the cost, Shakotan is famous for its fresh seafood. However, most restaurants in Shakotan close by 16:00.

• Uroko. 11:00-20:00. Rinkoso's small restaurant on the coast, serving fresh seafood. ¥1000 for sashimi bowl and ¥3000 for uni bowl. (updated Jul 2017)
