Me, worldnomad and other editors have contributed significantly to http://wikitravel.org/en/Santa_Ana_%28El_Salvador%29 over the past view months (2014). Can I transfer content from wikitravel to wikivoyage? What are the pitfalls? —The preceding comment was added by Worldnomad (talkcontribs)

Hello, welcome, and thanks for asking! This question is covered at Wikivoyage:Wikivoyage and Wikitravel#Can I copy content between Wikivoyage and Wikitravel?. The short answer is that you retain the copyright for anything that you posted, but that you otherwise have to comply with Copyleft rules of attribution. A more practical answer is that it's really best for articles on this site to deviate in wording from those on WT, so that Google doesn't interpret our articles as copies. But the overriding criterion really is that the interests of the traveler come first, so if you've got good content to share, post it.
I hope all of this didn't make things as clear as mud.
All the best
