Category talk:Cities with categories

I'm not sure I understand what this category really is meant to describe. Is Xi'an, with the long "Go next" section on the Daqin Pagoda, an example of a city article with a sub-destination? Ikan Kekek (talk) 02:47, 21 August 2014 (UTC)

No, this category contains articles marked as cities but which have been also set up as a hierarchical parent to something, as judged by the existence of a category of the same name. Except for "huge cities" this often indicates a miscategorization. For example, of the first 8 I checked after setting this up, 7 were actually region articles accidentally marked as cities, and the other was a breadcrumb mistake where a town was placed inside another town 60 km away, when it's actually just in a province of a similar name and not a part of that other town at all.
