Changzhi (长治; Chángzhì) is a city in Shanxi Province.

There are two high-speed railway stations in Changzhi, Changzhi East and Changzhi South. There are other conventional train stations including Changzhi North, Changzhi and Wuxiang.

There is an airport in Changzhi called Changzhi Wangcun Airport.

  • 1 Taihangshan Grand Canyon (太行山大峡谷; Tàihángshān Dàxiágǔ, Grand Gorge of Taihang), Daxiagu Town, Huguan County (壶关县大峡谷镇) (take the special tourist bus that departs from the Huguan County Seat North Bus Station; alight when you get to the visitor center), toll-free: +86 400 0710999. Not to be confused with the similarly named Taihang Grand Canyon (太行大峡谷) in Linzhou, Henan Province. As of April 2024, the park is closed due to road works. It will reopen again on July 1st.
  • 2 Shangdang Gate (上党门; Shàngdǎngmén), 15 Fushang Street, Luzhou District (潞州区府上街15号) (bus nos. 5, 5A and 14). 08:00-18:00. This old gate is a major historical landmark in Changzhi and is often seen as a symbol of the city. It was originally built during the Sui Dynasty as part of a local government office but destroyed by the Jurchens in the 12th century. The current structures date from the Ming Dynasty. Free.
  • Faxing Temple (法兴寺; Fǎxīngsì).

  • 3 Huangya Cave Cultural Tourism Area (黄崖洞; Huángyádòng Wénhuà Lǚyóu Qū), 168 Shangchiyu Village, Huangyadong Town, Licheng County (黎城县黄崖洞镇上赤峪村村168号) (take either a train or bus no. 818 to Licheng County, then catch bus no. 808 from Licheng Bus Station and get off at the final stop), +86 355 5512000. 08:00-18:00, no entry after 17:00. More than just a geological park, this is also an important historical site. During the Second World War, the Communist-led Eighth Route Army set up a military base here, which included the army’s first armaments factory. In November 1941, Eighth Route Army forces at the base successfully fought off an attack by the Japanese army despite being outnumbered 6 to 1. The former military base is now one of the key attractions in the park. Standard adult tickets are ¥120; tickets for children between 7 and 18 years old and adults between 60 and 64 years old are ¥60; children aged 6 or under and adults aged 65 or over are admitted for free.
