Dumbraveni is a town in the north of Sibiu County, in the centre of Transylvania, central Romania. Before 1945, it was called Ibaşfalău (German: Elisabethstad", Saxon dialect: Eppeschdorf; Hungarian: Erzsébetváros). The town lies on the banks of the Târnava Mare River, 20 km east from the city of Mediaş, the second largest city in the county. It now has a large Romany ("gypsy") population.

Dumbrăveni has two villages attached to it: Ernea (German: Ehrgang, Saxon dialect: Argung, Hungarian: Szászernye) and Şaroşu pe Târnave (German: Scharosch, Saxon dialect: Šuerš; Hungarian: Szászsáros).
