The Tagus Valley (Portuguese: Vale do Tejo) is a region of Portugal, along the River Tagus. The nation's capital, Lisbon, lies at the mouth of the Tagus where in empties into the Atlantic ocean.

 Ribatejo
This inland region along the River Tagus has no coastline or border with Spain. It's known for its plains, rich farmland, and bull raising.

  • The Tagus Valley is a major junction for Portugal's motorway and road network. Among the region's important motorways are:
    • A1 (Autoestrada do Norte) from Porto and other northern cities
    • A2 (Autoestrada do Sul) from the Alentejo and the Algarve regions
    • A6 (Autoestrada do Alentejo Central) from the Alentejo and Spain (at Badajoz)
