Guinee Maritime is the coastal region of Guinea.

Cities

• 1 Conakry — the capital city is home to the national museum, botanical gardens, and the Grand Mosque
• 2 Kindia — "the city of citrus fruits"
• 3 Loos Islands — these three islands not far from Conakry are a perfect escape from the dusty capital

Understand

Includes all of Kindia province and the south part of Boke province. This is region is the home of the Susu people and their culture.

The region is a gentle coastal plain, between 50 and 80 km (30 and 40 miles) wide, and wider in the south than the north. The Fouta Djallon plateau rises from the plain, and several rivers, including the Fatala, Konkouré, and Kolenté, originate in the Fouta Djallon and flow west to empty into the Atlantic.
