Malung [1] is a town in western Dalarna in Sweden, with roughly 5,000 inhabitants. Malung-Sälen Municipality, Malung-Sälens kommun with a total of 10,000 inhabitants, covers a large area, and contains several villages, among them the Sälen ski resort.

There is no longer train connections to Malung. The nearest train stations are in Borlänge and Mora, from where buses goes to Malung.

- Skiing in Sälen.
- Dansbandsveckan is a dance festival that is held in week 29 every year (14–21 July 2019). There are six large dance floors, 82 bands and almost 100,000 visitors to the festival. Children younger than 13 years of age are not allowed into the dance floor tents. Dansband (dance band) is a Swedish pop music genre with similarities to German Schlager as well as Country & Western music.
