edit- 1 Ruins of Niamkolo Church. This was the site of one of the first British missions in Zambia, established in 1884 just a few years after the expeditions of Livingstone. The missionary flourished and a large stone church was constructed in 1896. However in 1908 the region was plagued by sleeping sickness and the site was vacated. The church has since fallen into disrepair but remains a national monument.
