Northern Samar is one of the three provinces of Samar Island in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

edit- 1 Biri — a municipality off the northern coast of Samar Island, which comprises Biri Island, Talisay, Magasang, and Cagnipa. Biri Island is notable for the unusual rock formations. It is included in the marine protected area known as Biri Larosa Protected Landscape and Seascape.
- 2 Capul — it has a fortified church that is proposed to become a UNESCO World Heritage Site
- 3 Catarman — the commercial, educational, financial, political and government center of Northern Samar province
- 4 Laoang — home to the historic Batag Island Lighthouse

By bus
editBuses from Manila going to the Visayas and Mindanao pass through its roll-on/roll-off port of Allen in the western side, which is about 45 minutes from Catarman. Some of the buses roll on to their destinations in the Visayas and Mindanao and the rest roll to their destinations in the eastern coastal towns of Northern Samar passing through Catarman. Buses and vans connect the capital town of Catarman to the cities of Calbayog, Catbalogan, and Tacloban.
