Get around edit

See edit

  • Creek Nation Council House (In Old Downtown). The Creek Nation Council House dates from Indian Territory days and was used until just before Statehood. Some of the many artifacts contained within its walls include a collection of unique and exquisite Creek tribal objects as well as medallions from various leaders (including one from King George III). Well worth the trek down The Okmulgee Beeline for a tour.
  • Street signs in the Muskogee language. Downtown area street signs are in both Muskogee and English. Most people under 40 can speak English, as it's taught in school, but if you're speaking to anyone older you may need to learn a few useful Muskogee phrases to get around.

Do edit

  • The Orpheum Theater, 210 West 7th Street, +1 918 756-2270. See a Movie at The Orpheum Theatre. It opened in 1920 and still shows movies to this day.
  • Okmulgee Lake & Recreation Area, 16830 Dripping Springs Lake Rd. Besides providing water recreation, Okmulgee Lake has an intense waterfall at times pouring over its spillway. There's also a southern extension to it called Dripping Springs Lake.

  • Walmart, 1800 S Wood Dr. There's a Walmart.
