Purworejo is a regency of 769,880 (2020) in Central Java.

Orientation

The plains of Purworejo Regency are composed of alluvium deposits which mainly come from the debris of tertiary volcanic rocks that make up the South Serayu Mountains and Menoreh Mountains. This regency is traversed by three rivers, namely the Jali River, the Medono River, and the Bogowonto River.

• 1 Loano Mosque (Masjid Jami' Al-Iman Loano), Banjaran, Loano. The mosque was founded by Sunan Geseng, a student of Sunan Kalijaga, in 1472. As is typical of mosques in Java, Loano Mosque uses wooden pillars as building supports. The main pillar in the main part of the mosque is more than 500 years old.
