town in and county seat of Refugio County, Texas, United States
Refugio is a small town on the South Barrier Coast of Texas. The county seat of Refugio County, Refugio is one of the older settlements in Texas, founded as a Catholic mission during the Spanish Texas era of the 18th century. Today, it sits as a crossroads and a halfway point between Victoria and Corpus Christi. Despite that, it still has several attractions, both historical and natural, that make it a destination in its own right.
