San Remigio is a municipality in Cebu Province, on the northwest side of Cebu Island. It has the longest coastline on the island and is an entry point to Bantayan Island via its Hagnaya Port.

San Remigio has the longest coastline on Cebu Island. As a result, the town is relatively sprawled out along the coast. The town center (Poblacion) is the main commercial center while the barangay of Tambongon hosts a secondary business district for the southern part of the municipality.

By bus edit

Intercity buses arrive from and depart to North Bus Terminal in Mandaue, Metro Cebu, about 100 km away. The trip takes 3 to 4 hours depending on traffic. There are three bus terminals in San Remigio. The municipal hall stop serves the town center, while a terminus station located in the barangay of Bugoson serves the southern part of the municipality and the Hagnaya Port terminus serves the barangay of Hagnaya and Bantayan Island. Fares start at ₱110.

San Remigio is easily accessible from Metro Cebu by road via the Central National Highway/Cebu North Hagnaya Wharf Road (signed as Highway 810) which leads directly into the town center and northwards to Hagnaya Port.

Jeepneys connect San Remigio with Bogo and Tabuelan.

By boat edit

Two ferry companies connect Hagnaya Port with the port of Santa Fe in Bantayan, Super Shuttle Ferry and Island Shipping Express. Ferries leave and arrive hourly between 3AM and 6PM. As of 2017, the fare is ₱170 for regular trips and ₱185 for air-conditioned trips.

Tricycle is the most common form of public transportation in the town. Fares start at ₱8 and increase depending on distance.
