Shefford is a township municipality in the regional county municipality (MRC) La Haute-Yamaska, in the Eastern Townships (Estrie), in Quebec.

The township municipality of Shefford enclaves the city of Waterloo and in its northern part enclaves in a half-donut the city of Warden. Shefford also constitutes the rural area connected to Granby (located to the northwest) and to Bromont (located to the southwest).

Shefford is an oasis for mountain hiking, camping, wilderness photography, and drone flights to admire the panorama.

The main hamlets are: Frost Village (east side of the territory, east of Waterloo), Shefford-Ouest (southwest of the territory), Val-Maher (west side), Saxby Corner (northwest of Mount Shefford) and Val-Shefford (north of the territory, along the Yamaska River).

  • 1 Mount Shefford (Mont Shefford) (north of the A10, north of Bromont and southeast of downtown Granby). The summit of Mount Shefford overlooks the region at 525 m (west summit); the north-east summit reaches 488 m and the south summit, 494 m. Hikers can reach the summit by a hiking trail from Parc des Montagnards or Parc Jean-Paul Forand. The west side of the mountain includes Lac sur la Montagne.   • Circuit around Mont Shefford. This circuit allows you to appreciate the various faces of Mont Shefford and its forest cover. In the fall, the colored forest is magical. In the winter, the snow creates a magic of the cliffs and the summit. Suggested route: from Waterloo, take successively route 112 (west) to travel counterclockwise; at Sasby Corner, turn left towards the south, on Saxby South Road; take Jolley Road (east); take 241 (east) to return to the starting point.
  • 1 L'Estriade cycle path (Piste cyclable L'Estriade). 97-km cycle path, starting from downtown Waterloo and leading to Granby and Bromont.
