Smithton is a town of almost 4,000 people (2021) on the far northwest coast of Tasmania.

Smithton is on the Bass Highway (A2) about an hour west of Burnie. The best way is to come by car as it's practically the only way. You could come by a private ferry to Smithton, but then it's a fair walk between Smithton and Duck Bay.
