Alps are not stretching to Hungary .
Alps a winter destination historically?
editNow I don't know how far back in time we want to go, but saying the Alps are "traditionally" a winter destination is just not true. As late as the 1950s hiking and climbing were the things to do in the Alps and hardly anybody even thought about skiing. I don't know how this changed, but the innovations to become attractive in the summer (again) seem to be not all that new after all. Though the "event" certainly has become more important. Back in the day people went hiking, period. Nowadays people cross the Alps on a pogo stick - backwards. While drinking a beverage that films the whole shebang. I am exaggerating a bit of course, but you get the point, I hope. Hobbitschuster (talk) 23:57, 30 November 2015 (UTC)
- Are you planning to change the existing text to reflect this? In principle your assertion is correct. --Andrewssi2 (talk) 01:08, 1 December 2015 (UTC)
The regionmap
editIt is of course better than nothing, but could one that is less blurry be made? Unfortunately, I myself lack the necessary photo editing skills... Hobbitschuster (talk) 15:12, 21 March 2016 (UTC)
- So who could make a higher resolution map for the Alps? Hobbitschuster (talk) 21:08, 23 March 2017 (UTC)
- I made a new map. The regions are traced from the old map, so they are really not very exact (don't think that matters), but the countries are from a different source, so it looks much more high-res now. I also made it more like the wikivoyage region map style. Drat70 (talk) 03:16, 24 March 2017 (UTC)
