Talk:Brooklyn/Southwest Brooklyn
Neighborhood name
editNeither "Greenwood" nor "New Utrecht" are in common use or widely known (the latter is more historical than current). I believe a rename is in order. "Southwest Brooklyn" would be most succinct. "Bay Ridge and Bensonhurst" may be too local. "Sunset Park, Bay Ridge, Borough Park, and Bensonhurst" may be too wordy. All I'm 100% sure about is that the current name doesn't work. Any thoughts? --Nricardo (talk) 20:54, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
- "Southwest Brooklyn" is OK with me. Ikan Kekek (talk) 21:11, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
Kerekes Bakery & Restaurant Equipment listing
editThis doesn't seem like the kind of store that's usually relevant to a tourist. Am I under any misimpressions? Ikan Kekek (talk) 01:11, 15 November 2020 (UTC)
- People buy all sorts of things while traveling. Despite the business's name, it isn't limited to professional/wholesale merch. It caters to home cooks as well. Also, travelers needn't be from overseas and could have their cars with them. If you have a strong case against this listing, it could be removed, but I'm inclined to leave it in (as the original inserter). --Nricardo (talk) 06:22, 15 November 2020 (UTC)
- One can always argue that x, y or z could theoretically be bought by a traveler. I'm OK with this listing if it's not super-specialized for restaurants and professional chefs, but have a look at the guidelines at Wikivoyage:Goals and non-goals. There are a lot of types of stores - for example, ordinary hardware stores - which we don't list. Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:54, 15 November 2020 (UTC)
Salty Dog Bar and Grill
editI deleted this listing because it is not suitable for a general guidebook. The Salty Dog is only welcoming for white people. It is a hangout for white cops and firemen. Everyone needs a place to hang out but the Salty Dog is not a good tourist destination. Emily100 (talk) 07:55, 1 April 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks, appreciated. Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:03, 1 April 2021 (UTC)
