A POV political term

edit

@SHB2000: The subject of this wikivoyage article, "Chenab Valley" is a newly created, loosely defined, political POV term.[1] I've been trying to correct this POV spiderweb across several wiki projects, including primarily at the English wikipedia. All of these articles have been created by a certain Anzer Ayoub, who is a blocked sockpuppeteer on English wikipedia with his primary account being "TheChunky." If you want to keep the content of this article, I can try and salvage whatever is non-POV, and shift that to other ones. UnpetitproleX (talk) 12:37, 10 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Also, apologies @SHB2000: while I know which policies these pov creations violate on wikipedia, I'm not well versed with the policies here on wikivoyage. Perhaps you would know. UnpetitproleX (talk) 12:38, 10 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
@UnpetitproleX: That's understandable, but keep in mind that NPOV is not a policy here (only Wikivoyage:Be fair) – there is a solid amount of travel content in this article, so I do think it should be moved + redirected over just redirected. Typically I'd have just deleted this article if it were created by a cross-wiki sock, but this one seems to be an enwiki-specific sock so we can't exactly delete their work if they're not blocked from enwikivoyage. Thanks for being vigilant about this LTA, though! --SHB2000 (t | c | m) 12:40, 10 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, SHB2000. I will try to do that (move + redirect). As for the user, given that they had 5+ accounts, they may have used some of them in other wiki projects, but that's beyond the discussion here. UnpetitproleX (talk) 12:55, 10 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
  1. For the controversy around it, and its political pov, see pages 290–292 of Vikas Kumar's Numbers as Political Allies: The Census in Jammu and Kashmir (Cambridge University Press, 2023)
